“Ownership is the most intimate relationship that one can have to objects. Not that they come alive in him, it is he who lives in them.” — Walter Benjamin, “Unpacking My Library”

I’m a collector. Not so much of traditional “valuable”  objects, though. I am much more a collector of memories, and of the artifacts of everyday life that can help evince the past. There are innumerable things that can serve as primary sources, or “first person” accounts of events. This blog is intended to showcase some of these artifacts, some of which hold a special significance to me, and some of which are just historically interesting.

If you want to suggest a source or a link, or just want to talk about anything I’ve posted, please use the contact form below to contact me. Thanks for stopping by.
